Uphold press freedom and free expression

A free press is one of the basic and foremost basis for democratic societies to exist; free expression lets governments know the sentiments of their constituents; free press helps people empower themselves with uncensored information they need in oder to decide judiciously on matters they deem important; when governments or states stifle free expression, the people's primary right to information is violated and their sense of judgment, affected.
