I am a Chairperson for American Cancer Society's Relay for Life. I started this 3 years ago, after losing my mother and best friend, Barbara Jean Reilly O'Riordan. Her fight against Ovarian Cancer will not be in vain. She was the strongest woman I have ever known, and I hope to see in my lifetime, an aggressive program to support, and advocate for genetic testing to be covered for high risk women who may have a fighting chance against Ovarian cancer. This horrible disease is usually found in the later stages, and most of the time results in a very short prognosis. With the help, and support of people all over the world, our efforts will not go unnoticed, and the researchers will have what they need to find a CURE for this disease.

I have participated in the Relay for Life ACS in Sacramento Ca last year in April. I loved it and enjoyed my time spent fundraising, knowing the cause, and knowing that I am making a difference in some way for someone else.
This year's relay for life is May 31st. I am the captain this year and has been successful fundraising in my community. I fight for everyone I have met in my life, or met in the hospital battling cancer; past realatives and my aunt who is a survivor :)
