PLANT A TREE EACH TIME YOU CELEBRATE YOUR BIRTHDAY
Every time I celebrate my birthday, I would see to it that I plant at least one hardwood at our farm in the province. At present, I have 32 trees both soft and hardwood lining up our farm like windbreakers. I use to plant fifty trees at a time but the typhoon hits our town and claim some of my trees. I keep an inventory and even measure the circumference of the trees using a tape measure. It feels good to know that my trees grow a few inches more each year.
In the Philippines, you can get free tree seedlings of mahogany, gmelina and dao at the local Community Environment and Natural Resources Office. Better plant several varieties instead of just one tree to avoid pests and to maintain the biodiversity. I also have narra and a few fruit trees. Observe the proper distance so the trees can grow straight and cut the branches when typhoon hits your home. Goodluck!

I think the biblical passage that says "Go and multiply" was said at a time when there were only two people. Its definitely not applicable now..

Lets plan our families well and help save the philippine environment.

It's is so frustrating to see our government's and fellow Filipinos' nonchalance about the issues concerning the indiscriminate destruction and continuing depletion of our natural resources. Kakaunti na lang tayong nagmamahal sa ating Inang Kalikasan. I hope our tribe will continue to thrive and multiply.

What makes us proud to be a Filipino ? That we know how to value things that need to be valued.. Being Pinoy enables us to respect people without looking down on their heritage.
