More About Me

About Me

I am an Army retired Sergeant Major and now a Financial Consultant - Most people say that I am very mature, intelligent and knowledgeable in most things. My outlook on life is to put God First in everything (before, during, and afterward - spare or fulltime), always trying to be happy and by rejoicing in the Day that the Lord has made, having a good outlook on life, e.g; (eat, drink and be merry in the Lord - in moderations and within the law), focusing on helping others (whosoever) too, (if possible)! I study the Word daily to gain some knowledge of the known and unknown (mental exercise). I try to eat properly and do physical exercise (I have a Black Belt in the Korean Art of Taekwondo). I like doing most things: eating out or in (especially barbecuing!) I like dancing, picnics, walks/drives, concerts, movie/TV(theater), biking, playing games like Monopoly, pool, table tennis; etc. I enjoy most sports. Some people say that I am a little bit witty, but not sarcastic. I love to listen to most music, but I may not buy it! My favorites are classic soul, R&B, Blues, Jazz, Gospel. Others I may listen to for awhile, but may not buy. My overall goal is to be a doer of God's Word and not fall for man's traditions and speculations. Money isn't everything, but one needs it to adequately exist - to be poor is not a sin; but to stay that way may be.

I Cried Because I Have No New Shoes Until I Found a Man Without Feet

This is a true to life encounter with the author and a Nameless Woman. It happened today; 16th of May 2008.
==================================================
I was exiting a store this morning, when a woman approached me and asked a stick of cigarette. I told her I don’t have any, besides I only smoke when I hit the rock bottom. She told me she was very hungry. I said, "If you are, why are you asking for a cigarette instead of food". She said, "It is easier for people to give cigarette than give food." I normally don’t trust stranger because of my training in crime prevention, but somehow, I thought what if she really is. I invited her to the restaurant across the street and ordered her breakfast. I watched her eat like she never eats for a long time. I asked her if she got kids, she said, she got 3 left on her friend’s house. I ordered take home for the kids as well. When she is done, she grabbed my hand, and kissed it, I was taken aback. She asked my name and said’ "Thank You." I told her, "I am one of those nameless faces you meet everyday." I saw her cried. I told her goodbye and take care and patted her shoulder. I went to my car, I turned back and she was still there looking at me, still staring at me until I am gone out of the parking lot.

While driving, I feel there is something building up in my chest, and I started crying. I came from a third world where food is scarce and I am lucky because my family has enough, but to see somebody starving here struck me. While we are the one that make or unmake our lives, I am not prejudice to judge her sufferings and the sufferings of millions like her in the world. She mirrors to me the reality of life…IT IS NEVER BEEN FAIR. All of a sudden I was embarrassed because I complained so much to God why He took away some people I love dearly, spent long hours praying asking for answers. I feel guilty because I have all the basic things I need to live, which are denied to the many. That woman is a reflection of my greed, greed to seek the happiness that I thought was denied to me. I suddenly woke up and realized that the pains I have been carrying are not necessary. And there goes the saying: "I CRIED BECAUSE I HAVE NO SHOES, UNTIL ONE DAY I FOUND A MAN WITHOUT FEET." and yet he is happy. Thanks for that nameless woman; she is just very ordinary, however, she did extra ordinary things for me.

Desiderata

Go placidly amid the noise and haste,
and remember what peace there may be in silence.
As far as possible without surrender
be on good terms with all persons.
Speak your truth quietly and clearly;
and listen to others,
even the dull and the ignorant;
they too have their story.

Avoid loud and aggressive persons,
they are vexations to the spirit.
If you compare yourself with others,
you may become vain and bitter;
for always there will be greater and lesser persons than yourself.
Enjoy your achievements as well as your plans.

Keep interested in your own career, however humble;
it is a real possession in the changing fortunes of time.
Exercise caution in your business affairs;
for the world is full of trickery.
But let this not blind you to what virtue there is;
many persons strive for high ideals;
and everywhere life is full of heroism.

Be yourself.
Especially, do not feign affection.
Neither be cynical about love;
for in the face of all aridity and disenchantment
it is as perennial as the grass.

Take kindly the counsel of the years,
gracefully surrendering the things of youth.
Nurture strength of spirit to shield you in sudden misfortune.
But do not distress yourself with dark imaginings.
Many fears are born of fatigue and loneliness.
Beyond a wholesome discipline,
be gentle with yourself.

You are a child of the universe,
no less than the trees and the stars;
you have a right to be here.
And whether or not it is clear to you,
no doubt the universe is unfolding as it should.

Therefore be at peace with God,
whatever you conceive Him to be,
and whatever your labors and aspirations,
in the noisy confusion of life keep peace with your soul.

With all its sham, drudgery, and broken dreams,
it is still a beautiful world.
Be cheerful.
Strive to be happy.

My main goal is to help spread the Gospel, by teaching people how to completely understand God's Word in the privacy of their home; and be a Doer. Then All things will be added unto you. (Mat 6:33). I'm not asking people to leave a current Bible Study Group, but to learn how to study God's Word in private; by chapter,verse, sentence, (Isa28:10); via internet, 24/7; (on your own time or convience). God need more men to stand for Jesus.

I don't have a ministry, just work for Jesus; trying to do His Commandment, to spread the Gospel. (I don't accept any/no form of payment, favors; collections or gifts); and Scammers/beggars for money are not welcome). Jesus rewards me plenty. (I could use your help in: counseling, interpretors, recruitment, etc.
