Politics

Let's see, very left of center and yet to the right of a few people I know., I'm all about Hillary, I'm all about Obama. I'm all about ending bad wars that began with faulty logic, and I'm all about military strength and support. Bush is not my President, I did not vote for him either time, and unlike many people yes I actually voted. I'm anti-death penalty and yet I'm pro-choice., I don't like paying taxes, but I realize they are a necessity for a strong nation - believe it or not the government is not self supporting. I'm all about public education, I'm all about making education accountable. I'm all about social reforms that will bring about a healthier generation for a healthier future. I'm for socialized healthcare., I guess really I'm a ecclectic mix of convictions and causes, like most people I know, that doesn't allow me to fit into a box., As an American I have the chance to partake in one of the greatest political experiments ever because that is what America is, we are the first of our kind and I find political apathy rather disheartending and sad.

Religion

I started life as a Catholic and left the church in my early 20's. I dabbled with a couple other christian faiths. Really religion fascinates me and I've studied most of them to one extent or another. At this point in my life if I had to categorize myself I am much more drawn to Wicca, naturalistic faiths, what many of you would call the Occult - what I call the religion of my ancestors.

Books

Is there a bad one? Currently I'm reading "Bitch: In Praise of Difficult Women" by Elizabeth Wurtzel, "Appetites: Why Women Want" by Caroline Knapp and "Sex Art and American Culture" by Camille Paglia. Other favorites would include: "Two Nations" by Andrew Hacker, "The Four Loves" by C.S. Lewis, "Hunting Humans: The Rise of the Modern Multiple Murderer" by Elliott Leyton, "Part of My Soul Went Wtih Him" by Winnie Mandela, "Nickel and Dimed: On (Not) Getting By in America" by Barbara Ehrenreich, "Islam: A Short History" by Karen Armstrong, "Stranger In A Strange Land" by Robert Heinlein, and "Neuromancer" by William Gibson
