Here’s sharing with you a story about friendship……

*****
"MY FRIENDS"

It was World War I, a soldier asked his commanding officer if he could crawl out of the trenches and cross the bloody battlefield to bring in a comrade who lay mortality wounded.

“You can go,” said the officer, “but it’s not worth it. Your friend was probably killed, and you will just throw your own life away.”

But the soldier persisted, somehow, he managed to get his friend, hoist him onto his shoulder, and bring him back to the trenches. Two of them tumbled in together and lay at the bottom of the trench.

The officer looked at the rescuer and said, “I told you it wouldn’t be worth it. Your friend is dead and you are mortally wounded.”

“IT WAS WORTH IT, Sir,” he replied.

“How do you mean worth it? I tell you your friend is dead,” snapped the officer.

“Yes, Sir,” the soldier answered, “BUT IT WAS WORTH IT, because when I got to him he was still alive, and he said to me, ‘Johnny, I knew you would come’, before he died. It was worth it.”

You can’t help but be touched by this story of true friendship. It reminds me of the many friends we have.
*****
We have friends who are like shadows. They stay close to you while you walk in sunshine, but they disappear the moment you walk in darkness. They are the sunshine friends. They are always around when everything is going great, only to disappear once there is trouble. … “the saying goes --- ‘A friend in need is a friend to be avoided.’

*****
We also have friends who have problem with their memory, but we must confess that we helped damaged their memory. We did it by lending them some money. These are our forgetful friends.

*****
Lucky for those who have extra special group of friends. These people are active in business and work, yet they have committed to live their lives according to the principle of the word of God. They stick close to each other and share each other’s burden.

*****
So find friendships built on accountability and caring. We can never live the joyful life God intends us to live without the presence of our godly friends. But understand that before you can enjoy the company of good friend, you have to be a good friend yourself first. An offering of the self to others will gain you friends who will return your love and care.

We Are Friends....

Whether the day is good or bad,
Whether I feel happy or sad,
If I have a need, you’ll comprehend;
You’ll be there to share and be a friend.

Other people may fill my day,
But never in such an important way;
We support each other ‘round all life’s bends,
It feels so good that we are friends.

Question of Existence…a Sunday reflection.
***WHY ARE WE HERE?***

It is really hard to live if we do not know our reason for living. It is even harder if we live without a purpose. But the hardest of all is if we do not know the essence of our existence. If we don’t know our reason for being here, "we are leading a meaningless life, and a meaningless life is no life at all". It is virtual death.

One sad thing is some may have their own purpose for living but are totally misled. For some life is pleasure: eat, drink, and be happy for tomorrow you shall die. What gives color to their life is pleasure. Without wining and dinning, life for them is meaningless, barren, and miserable. We can say that they are the greatest opportunists. They take every opportunity of their being alive to savor the want of the flesh because, to their belief, when death comes it will be the end of everything.

Let is ponder on these things in the light of the Holy Scriptures. As we are God’s handiwork we were not created without a purpose, but with a definite purpose, that is to know HIM our Creator. It states that the true and main purpose of our being, the essence of our existence --- "Knowing God is Not merely having the knowledge of His existence. The true knowledge of God is in obeying His Commandments.” ---

“The essence of life then is how we spend it. If we spend it all for ourselves, for self glorification, for worldly pleasure and for material rewards, it loses its essence. But because of our conviction that this life is not our own, God just lend it to us, we dedicate ourselves in keeping His Commandments, we are leading a meaningful life.”

(Have a nice reflection and a happy weekend...God bless you)

"BALANCE"
God gave fragrance to the flowers
And a song for the birds to sing
So even those without sight
Could see the beauty that they bring.
But I can't help but wonder,
At the thorn he placed upon the rose
And why, suppose, he made the weed
Or inspired a poet to write in prose.
Was it, for us, a lesson shown
That life brings the bitter with the sweet.
And for the poet, compassion given,
That allows his pen to paper meet.
When a summer storm has passed,
And the sun comes out to shine,
I look to see the sky reveal
A rainbow adorning so divine.
May I never grow so blind
That my blessings I fail to see
Nor my ears grow so deaf
That I don't hear what he says to me.
So when the thorns begin to sting,
Upon the rose I'll place my sight
And when the darkness in me creeps,
Upon his face I'll see the light.
(Good morning Natz. Take care)

The Meaning of True Love

It is sharing and caring,
Giving and forgiving,
Loving and being loved,
Walking hand in hand,
Talking heart to heart,
Seeing through each other’s eyes,
Laughing together,
Weeping together,
Praying together,
And always trusting
And believing
And thanking God
For each other…

For love that is shared is a beautiful thing–
It enriches the soul and makes the heart sing!

happy nice weekend n GBU
